Sarah Mackey is a native of County Kilkenny who has lived in Limerick for the past 6 years. A full time teacher, she loves to create in her spare time and would love one day to devote her time fully to creating and designing accessories. She tries to create affordable but glamorous and eyecatching pieces and began by creating her own fascinators for friends’ weddings.
The decadent 1920’s and glamorous 1950’s and 60’s inspire a lot of her work with her jewellery inspired by the timeless beauty and elegance of Elizabeth Taylor and Grace Kelly. Her fascinators and headpieces are inspired by the same era and by modern art of all kinds. Nature too winds it’s way into her work and finds expression in her ‘Butterfly’ range of fascinators.
All Sarah’s work in handmade with most of it vintage or comprising vintage elements like brooches, rhinestones and other embellishments.
